Symbolic meaning of black and purple violets?

I keep having reoccurring dreams of black, purple, and sometimes yellow violets. I've tried looking around and trying to see where I could of seen violets and subconsciously remembered them, but I can't find any. Best answer goes to someone with a nice, detailed description.
