I'm bored with what music I have on my Ipod. Can anyone recommend anything based on what I like?

Since the majority of the bands you mentioned are some of my personal favorites, I would recommend you definitely check out The Smiths,Stone Roses, Sonic Youth(SOME of their stuff-check out their album "Schizophrenia")The Clash. The Ramones,Robert Plant(his solo career,some of his stuff is pretty good), the Yardbirds, the Velvet Underground,DEFINITELY Lou Reed's solo(his first album rocks),Softcell, and if you are a bit into some more industrial/electronic stuff, check out Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails.
