Confused Kenyan(American) seeking likewise?

I was born in Kenya but I was raised in the states. I consider myself truly African-American. However, my issue is that I don't fit in nicely in American society and the same is true with the Kenyan community. I'm about to go to Kenya for the first time since I was a little kid...I just wanted to know if there was anyone else out there who struggles with their multicultural identity or has been in my situation where they have to go back to where they came from. What should I expect? What should I do, or shouldn't do? I'm afraid that my feminist-individualist-definitely-not-tr… attitude is going to ruin my chances with getting to know my extended family (and trust me there's a TON of extended family). What makes it worse is I can't even speak the language. Anyone with a blog (about these issues of course), I would love to read it.
